David John Bosanko

David Bosanko, a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Seattle, died Aug. 8 of cancer. He was 54.

He was born in Seattle and attended South Seattle Community College. He worked as an HVAC refrigerant mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary.

Survivors include his wife, Mira; son, Russell; brothers, Paul, James and Jeffrey; and sister, Carolyn Bosanko.

WHIDBEY ISLAND

Marcia Halligan, a member of St. Hubert Parish in Langley, died Aug. 10.  She was 66.

She was born in Detroit, Michigan. When she was a young child, her family relocated to California. She received a B.A. in history from the University of California-Santa Barbara.

When she and her family moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, in 1973, she began her lifelong journey of ministering in the Catholic Church. She was active in the CCD program and other ministries.

In 1980 the family relocated to Whidbey Island. She began her involvement with St. Hubert Parish, which lasted for nearly 34 years. She began as a volunteer for the religious education program and became pastoral administrator in 1992. She received a master’s degree in pastoral administration from Seattle University in 1998.

She loved to travel and read.

She is survived by her husband, Pat; son, Christopher; and daughters, Denisia and Victoria.

A funeral was held Aug. 19 at St. Hubert Church.

 

William F. Volland
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA

William Volland, a former Seattle resident, died July 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was 74.

He was born in Seattle and graduated from Bishop Blanchet High School and attended Seattle University for two years.

He moved to Las Vegas seven years ago.

He is survived by his son, William R. Volland of Lynnwood; daughter, Julie Volland of Edmonds; and one grandchild.

He was interred at Holyrood Cemetery in Shoreline.
