Richard James Cardoni
Richard Cardoni died January 11 in Seattle. He was 76 years old.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from King’s College and a Master’s in education from Bloomsberg University. He married his wife, Patricia in 1966. He was a Spanish teacher, starting at Freeland High School and later moving to Hazelton Area High School. He retired in 1996.
He had a love for the game of baseball, serving as the head baseball coach at Freeland High School for nine years. He also enjoyed traveling and reading books and articles in both Spanish and Italian.
He and his wife, Patricia moved to Issaquah in 2007 to be closer to family and they became members of St. Joseph Parish.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his brother, Edmund; daughters, Gina and Maria; and four grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated January 21 at St. Joseph Church, Issaquah.
