Alice Kreide Bingaman
Alice Bingaman, a member of Holy Rosary Parish, died Sept. 8. She was 86.
A lifelong Washington resident, she was born in Seattle and received a master’s degree from the University of Washington. She worked as a school psychologist before retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Washington State Retired School Employees Group.
At her parish, she served in the choir and the finance council. She also enjoyed traveling, camping and reading.
She was preceded in death by her sons Daniel and George.
Survivors include her husband, Walter; sons David, Michael, Robert and James; daughters, Susan Caveler, Dawn Myers and Mary Adams; 26 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 12 at Holy Rosary Church.
Dorothy Borst Gerhard Lewis
Dorothy Gerhard Lewis, a lifelong Seattle resident, died Aug. 31. She was 92.
She attended Holy Names School, Forest Ridge Convent High School and the University of Washington.
Throughout the years she was a member of Assumption, St. Anne, and St. Olaf parishes. She was a member of the Vera Borst Circle of the Association for Catholic Childhood and the Olive Kerry Orthopedic Guild. She also enjoyed reading, knitting and gardening.
She was preceded in death by husbands Ted Gerhard and Ward Lewis, son Christopher Gerhard and grandson Timothy McCarthy.
Survivors include her sons Gregory, Loren, Kurt and Andrew; daughters, Catherine, Gretchen, Lisa, Paula and Marci; 29 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 6 at St. Anne Church.
