Bellarmine Preparatory School

“Madeline has excelled in every way a Catholic high school student can excel and never shies away from a challenge,” said Kevin Meines, Bellarmine’s dean of students. A soccer, basketball and softball player, she’s also served as an ASB officer, student activities board committee chair, eucharistic minister and lector, and has been involved in many service projects. She carries a 4.52 weighted GPA.

Jack Markowitz

O'Dea High School

Jack is “a true example of a person of character, faith and service,” said nominator John O’Neill. He was captain of O’Dea’s state champion football team as well as the wrestling team, is an officer in the National Honor Society and serves as the school chaplain. A member of St. Cecilia Parish on Bainbridge Island (he became Catholic while at O’Dea), he carries a 4.50 weighted GPA.

In each edition through June, Northwest Catholic will honor students for their achievements and contributions in the classroom, in their extracurricular activities, and in their churches and communities. At the end of the school year, two Students of the Year will be selected to receive $1,000 Northwest Catholic scholarships.
