Kennedy Catholic High School
Senior

“Rosario walks humbly and loves loudly through her actions,” said nominator Sofia Lopez. She’s a member of Kennedy Catholic’s Symphonic Band Council, jazz band, Lady Lancers, DECA program, and National and Spanish honor societies. She plays piano for the school praise band and at daily Masses at Renton’s St. Stephen the Martyr Parish, where she also serves as a lector.

Mateo Arana

Kennedy Catholic High School
Senior

“What makes Mateo an outstanding member of the community is his respect for each individual and willingness to assist others,” said nominator Sofia Lopez. A Spanish Honor Society member, he tutors his peers in Spanish and serves as a tutor with Catholic Community Services’ Youth Tutoring Program. He also plays in the school band. He’s a member of Burien’s St. Francis of Assisi Parish.

In each edition through June, Northwest Catholic will honor students for their achievements and contributions in the classroom, in their extracurricular activities, and in their churches and communities. At the end of the school year, two Students of the Year will be selected to receive $1,000 Northwest Catholic scholarships.
