Washington bishops: ‘We are called to care for the environment’

Working to promote greater care for the environment, the Catholic bishops of Washington state have released a statement on “Catholic Principles and Environmental Policy.” Released on October 4, the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of the environment, the statement draws upon teaching from Blessed Pope Paul VI to St. John Paul II to Pope Francis.

Vermont priest's 160-square-foot house has all the comforts of home

SPRINGFIELD, Vt. - Father Peter Williams built himself a house that has all the comforts of home: a full kitchen, a bathroom with a flushable toilet and shower, a dining area, a living area with a drop-down television, a propane furnace and even electric radiant heat under the laminate wood flooring.
