Iconic Tacoma church building to be razed

TACOMA – Holy Rosary Church, which has been a visible sign of faith in Tacoma for nearly a century, will be demolished “due to its unsafe condition,” according to a decree issued August 25 by Archbishop J. Peter Sartain.

Tacoma’s Holy Rosary Parish celebrates 125 years

TACOMA – In 1891, many German Catholics in Tacoma wanted to hear homilies preached in their native language. Banding together, they raised funds to buy land and build a church. Then they appealed to their bishop for a German-speaking Benedictine priest.

A house to honor Pope Francis
