Archbishop Etienne writes to Catholics about ‘this unprecedented time’

SEATTLE – Archbishop Paul D. Etienne released a letter to the people of the Archdiocese of Seattle March 24, offering prayers and encouragement during the COVID-19 pandemic and urging Catholics to follow Gov. Jay Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Archbishop Etienne announces pastoral and strategic planning efforts

SEATTLE – Archbishop Paul D. Etienne has written a letter to the people of God in the Archdiocese of Seattle. In the letter, the archbishop calls the church to “renew our commitment to the mission of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ” and announces new pastoral and strategic planning efforts.

The numbers don’t look good for the U.S. Postal Service. Last year it reported its sixth straight annual operating loss, in the amount of $2.7 billion. During fiscal year 2017, the USPS delivered 149 billion pieces of mail, down from 154 billion the previous year — and a major drop from its peak of 213 billion in 2006.
