Washington bishops support bill to repeal death penalty

OLYMPIA – The Catholic bishops of Washington state submitted testimony Tuesday in support of Senate Bill 5339, which seeks to repeal the death penalty and require that life imprisonment without the possibility of parole become the sentence for aggravated first degree murder convictions.

Washington bishops launch new website, with focus on helping immigrants

SEATTLE – The Catholic bishops of Washington state — including the Archdiocese of Seattle and the Dioceses of Spokane and Yakima — have launched a new website, It’s the official site for the Washington State Catholic Conference, the public policy voice of the state’s Catholic bishops. “We know connecting with Catholics and others in Washington is more important than ever,” said Seattle Archbishop J.
