Vacation Bible schools for summer 2017

This summer, many Western Washington parishes will host faith-based day camps for kids with crafts, games, songs and more. Here are a few we know about.

Bellevue: St. Louise de Marillac Parish

“I Am a Child of God” is an ecumenical collaboration with Cross of Christ Lutheran and the Church of the Resurrection Episcopal with Scripture-based activities including songs, crafts and teamwork-building games.

Dates: July 10–14, 9 a.m. to noon

Ages: kindergarten and elementary grades

Cost: $35 per child

Bellevue: St. Madeleine Sophie Parish

“Maker Fun Factory — Created by God, Built for a Purpose”

Dates: July 17–21, 9 a.m. to noon

Ages: 4 (by Sept. 1) through entering sixth grade

Cost: $55 per child

Burien: St. Francis of Assisi Parish

“Group’s Rome: Paul and the Underground Church” brings St. Francis of Assisi and St. Bernadette parishes together to offer kids a chance to travel back to Rome, explore caves of the underground church, meet the Apostle Paul, create Bible-times projects, experience real-life dramas, play games, sample Mediterranean snacks and more.

Dates: Aug. 7–11, 9:30 to noon

Ages: 4 through fourth grade

Cost: $40 per child

Covington: St. John the Baptist Parish

“Maker Fun Factory — Created by God, Built for a Purpose” will be a vibrant and exciting faith-based environment where kids will discover they are lovingly crafted by God.

Dates: July 10–14, 9 a.m. to noon

Ages: preschool through sixth grade

Cost: $25 per child ($50 maximum per family)

Renton: St. Anthony Parish

“SONshine Days @The Mighty Fortress” will explore Bible accounts about God, our Mighty Fortress, and the victory Jesus has won for us, through songs, crafts, games and more.

Dates: June 26–29, 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Ages: 4 through entering fifth grade

Cost: $30 per child ($70 maximum per family)

Seattle: St. John the Evangelist Parish

“Set Sail With St. Patrick” will focus on St. Patrick and his teaching about the Holy Trinity through stories, arts and crafts and more.

Dates: Aug. 14–18, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Ages: entering kindergarten through fifth grade

Cost: $50 per child, scholarships available
