Right now I am sitting in John F. Kennedy International Airport with the other delegates heading to Poland to meet our Holy Father. For two years we have been fundraising, praying, and preparing for this pilgrimage, and I cannot believe the day is finally here.
I am so excited to join millions of other Catholics and be a part of what I've heard is such a life-changing experience. I don't know exactly what will happen after these 12 days, but all I can say is that I have a feeling God has something amazing planned.
I know that I will not leave this pilgrimage the same person. I will have the opportunity not only to see our pope and get his blessing but also to walk on the same ground as St. John Paul II and be a part of something he started and cherished so much -- World Youth Day. How cool is that?!
I am so thankful for such an amazing group and family for making this possible. Poland here we come!
