'Pope Francis' poses for pictures at local parish

A life-size cardboard cutout of Pope Francis visited Prince of Peace Mission in Belfair after each of the Masses on the weekend of Sept. 19-20.

Parishioners delighted in taking photos with the pope and sharing them on social media (sometimes as their new profile pictures) and with friends and family, said Mary Ann Shutty, Prince of Peace's pastoral associate for administration. Shutty brought the cutout back to the parish after a trip to Franciscan University of Steubenville.

"Flat Francis," as the cutout has been nicknamed, will also be making appearances at Masses this coming weekend.
