Sister Jerome Mary ‘Jeri’ Renner, OP
ADRIAN, Michigan — Adrian Dominican Sister Jerome Mary “Jeri” Renner died July 5, 2023, at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian. She was 94.
Sister Jeri was in her 76th year of religious profession — 56 of those years as an Edmonds Dominican sister, then 21 years with the Adrian Dominicans after the two congregations merged in 2003. She ministered in Washington state for 36 years, serving in health care settings.
She was born Oct. 22, 1928, in Dimock, South Dakota, to Joseph and Elizabeth Sophie (Triebal) Renner, and was baptized Agnes Theresa Renner. She graduated from Holy Angels Academy in Seattle. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Teresa College in Winona, Minnesota, a Master of Hospital Administration degree from St. Louis (Missouri) University, and a Master of Applied Theology degree from Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California.
She interned in medical technology at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma from 1950-51, then served as a medical technologist at St. Joseph Hospital in Aberdeen from 1951-60 and a medical tech/lab supervisor at St. Helen Hospital in Chehalis from 1960-64.
From 1967-77, she was administrator at St. Joseph Hospital in Aberdeen. From 1983-92, she was director of pastoral services at Cabrini Hospital in Seattle, then she served as director of pastoral care for Providence Hospital in Everett from 1992-95. In 1996, she served as a consultant in the spiritual care department for the SWWA service area in Olympia. She also worked in health care settings in Connecticut, Colorado and Oregon, where she was a chaplain for a year at St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center in Portland and later served eight years as mission effectiveness director at Providence Seaside (Oregon) Hospital.
From 2005-18, Sister Jeri did a variety of volunteer work in the Seattle area. She moved to the Dominican Life Center in Adrian in 2018.
Sister Jeri was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Elsie Renner, Marie Boldrin, Josephine Morken and Helen Maier; and brother Leonard Renner.
She is survived by other family members and her Adrian Dominican sisters.
Visitation and a vigil prayer were held July 11, followed by a July 12 funeral Mass, all in the St. Catherine Chapel at the Motherhouse of the Adrian Dominican Sisters. A committal service followed in the Congregation Cemetery.

William ‘Bill’ Storts
SEATTLE — William Davis “Bill” Storts of Seattle died of Alzheimer’s disease on June 27, 2023, in Seattle. He was 76.
He was born Feb. 3, 1947, in Seattle to William and Peggy Storts. He attended Ballard High School and the University of Washington. He worked on the Milwaukee Railroad and as a bakery dry mix technician. He retired in 2010.
He had a great love of music, which led to him meeting his wife, Ginger, while singing in the choir at St. Alphonsus Church in Seattle. They married in 1979.
He sang in choral groups throughout his life and regularly attended the symphony, ballet and opera. Over the past decade, he enjoyed participating in the All Present Song Circle for memory loss at the Greenwood Senior Center.
A dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Seattle, he attended daily Mass while he was still able. He also was active in daily Bible study, visiting the elderly and serving the homeless.
He loved family vacations that included hiking and fishing or road trips to California. He also enjoyed gardening, working out at the gym and playing tennis.
He was a member of the Teamsters and Friends of Bill W.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Michele Storts and sister Susan Storts.
He is survived by his wife, Ginger; sons Jason, Sean, Stephen and Gregory; grandchildren Shelbie, Jasper, Lonnie, Xander, Logan, Carol, Ezra and Lachlin; great-grandchild Markus; and his sister Roberta Dawson.
A funeral Mass is scheduled at 11 a.m. Aug. 5 at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Seattle. A private burial will be at Holyrood Cemetery in Shoreline.
Marie Ennaro
DES MOINES — Marie Ennaro died of cancer July 5, 2023, in Des Moines. She was 93.
Born Aug. 15, 1929, in Seattle, she previously lived in Federal Way and Belfair. She married Vincent James (Jim) Ennaro in 1950 in Seattle. She was a member of St. Philomena Parish in Des Moines. She enjoyed making jewelry, cooking and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim and son Christopher.
She is survived by her son Joseph (Joe), daughter Susan (Susie), four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Interment was at Gethsemane Cemetery in Federal Way.
Joventino Fajardo
RENTON — Joventino Espaso Fajardo of Kent died June 8, 2023, in Renton. He was 67.
Born June 16, 1955, in Binalonan, Philippines, he graduated from the University of Baguio in 1978. He married Elisa Tagama Jose on May 11, 1981, and they moved to the United States 29 years ago. They lived in Kent for the last three years.
He worked as a machine operator for Continental Mills, retiring in 2021.
He was a member of St. Stephen the Martyr Parish and the Life After Forty Basketball League. He enjoyed cooking, baking, singing karaoke, road trips and construction.
He is survived by his wife Elisa, daughter Joysha and her husband Russel Bareng, and two grandsons, Jezer and Rovel.
A vigil service was held July 25 at Greenwood Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Renton with interment at St. Patrick Cemetery in Kent.
